For AHA Faculty That Conduct Instructor Courses:

Instructor Course for any discipline:

1. Instructor Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have a current AHA eCard for the discipline they wish to instruct. PALS or ACLS instructor candidates must possess a medical license at the level applicable to perform the skills in the course. Required to be kept in candidates file
2. Instructor Candidate must complete the online AHA instructor essentials course for the discipline PRIOR to attending the in-person instructor course. (Found in ShopCPR.heart.org for purchase) Completion certificate must be kept in candidates file.
3. Instructor Candidate attends the in-person instructor course with AHA faculty. This course requires the AHA videos for the Instructor Essentials specific to that discipline. (Found in ShopCPR.heart.org for purchase) Attendance Roster and Exam sheet must be kept in candidates file - Required to be kept in candidates file
4. Instructor Candidate course exam comes from your TC. Simply request the exam to be sent to you by email: Info@HeartSouthCPR.com
5. Instructor Candidate must be monitored teaching 1 course within 6 months of instructor course completion by the AHA Faculty member using the Instructor Monitoring Tool (PDF) UPDATED 6/2/2025
